The Only 35 Story
My name is Carlo and I am one of the duo from Faby&Carlo Boudoir Photography. As a professional photographer, I spent years searching for the perfect digital asset management tool. I was in love with Aperture, which Apple discontinued long ago, and since I moved to Lightroom, I had a love-hate relationship with it. It's a great tool to edit your photographs, but as digital asset manager I never loved it.
The last straw happened late in 2025, when opening the library where I store all my final photographs, it just wouldn't open any longer. Faby had asked me to give her some photos she needed for a mood board for a client, and what should have been a 10' job it ended up with me swearing for way longer than that.
So, as the developer I also am, I decided that the best way to have the digital asset manager I wanted, I would have built it by myself. I already had the need for a place to manage the photograph I shoot on film (hence the reference to 35mm) and I decided to expand it.
Only 35 is the tool I always wanted. It's designed from the ground up by someone who understands the challenges of managing a professional photography archive — because I face them every day. I did not need a place where to cull or edit images, I already have solutions for that, I needed a place to store my images and share them securely with my clients.
